Construction began in January 2011 and is anticipated to be completed in summer 2012. Travel impacts include lane restrictions and closures to both SR 143 and adjacent on- and off-ramps. Construction activity may occur 24-hours per day, seven days per week, and detours may be put into effect that will impact access in and out of Sky Harbor International Airport.

As with any complex construction project, there is a possibility that severe weather or other unforeseen difficulties may result in unscheduled closures, restrictions, or changes.

Safety is a vital part of the ongoing construction process. It is important to plan ahead for restrictions and to slow down in the work zone. Drivers and pedestrians are responsible for staying alert and obeying traffic laws; including signage, traffic barricades and flaggers within construction work zones. Most importantly: slow down in the work zones.  View additional safety tips
