
The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) is just one of the participants in the construction of major roadways in our state. Below you will find links to other organizations which play a part in this process and can provide additional information on the road-building process.

Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG)
Provides regional planning and policy decisions in areas of transportation, air quality, water quality, regional development and human services. Take a virtual tour of traffic management centers in the region.
Regional Transportation Plan (RTP)
Working with local communities, state and regional agencies, business leaders and the public, MAG has developed the new Regional Transportation Plan that will guide transportation investments through 2025.

Voters approve funding of Regional Transportation Plan.
Valley Metro
Responsible for regional transit planning, transit public information, management and operation of regional bus and Dial-a-Ride services, regional rideshare and vanpool programs, and marketing of both the Maricopa County Trip Reduction Program and Clean Air Campaign.

Federal Highway Administration (FHWA)
As a major agency of the U.S. Department of Transportation, the FHWA is charged with the broad responsibility of ensuring that America’s roads and highways continue to be the safest and most technologically up-to-date. FHWA also provides financial and technical support to state, local and tribal governments to construct, improve and preserve America’s highway system.
Trip Reduction Program
Employers and schools are asked to reduce single occupant vehicle trips and/or miles traveled to the work site.

The Environmental Planning Group (EPG)
maintains in-house expertise in air quality, archaeology,
biology, environmental planning, noise, and hazardous materials.
EPG also utilizes on call consultant expertise during the
preparation of requisite environmental analysis and documentation.
