The Arizona Department of Transportation is designing improvements to Interstate 10, between Earley Road and Interstate 8 near Casa Grande. The purpose of the project is to increase capacity, improve traffic flow and enhance safety on this segment of I-10. Construction is not funded at this time.
Planned improvements include:
- Widening I-10 from two lanes to three lanes in each direction
- Rubberized asphalt paving
- Florence Boulevard ramp upgrades
- Adding a new traffic interchange at Selma Highway
- Removing existing traffic interchange at Jimmie Kerr Boulevard
- New U-turn at Jimmie Kerr Boulevard
- Two new I-10 bridges over Jimmie Kerr Boulevard and the Union Pacific Railroad
- New one-way frontage roads between Selma Highway and Jimmie Kerr Boulevard
- Increasing Selma Highway from one lane to two lanes in each direction at its intersection with I-10
- Paving Hacienda Road between Earley Road and Selma Highway
